JON WALSH JOINS ENGINE TEAM
ENGINE UK looks to expand its EMX programmatic offering with industry veteran Jon Walsh.
ENGINE today announced that Jon Walsh has joined EMX, as SVP, Strategy Europe. EMX, an ENGINE company, is its fully owned, end-to-end programmatic exchange, purpose-built to meet the demands of today’s digital marketplace. He is charged with building out the EMX business in Europe, focusing on relationship building, strategic development and business growth with new and emerging technologies.
In addition to his new role at EMX, Walsh is also a columnist for Coin Rivet, a digital currency global news site and an independent publication covering blockchain technology. Most recently, he was an Associate Partner at Blockchain Rookies (2018), a blockchain consultancy serving Fortune 500 companies, where he provided education and strategic counsel to clients.
Before joining Blockchain Rookies, he worked at AdBank as a strategic advisor, focusing on ad tech and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to AdBank, he served as the Co-Founder & Chief Commercial Officer at One Central Point (2012-2018), a digital ad sales company. Among his chief achievements was the development of the booking platform, Straightline.io. In 2017, the company was acquired by AdSupply, an American ad network. Walsh was also a Partner at Media Ventures, London (2010 -2012), a media investment company.
In 2004, Walsh founded Monetise, a digital media company, which was acquired by Glam Media in 2008. At Monetise, he secured exclusive sales contracts from some of the largest independent publishers, including Setanta, ARTISTdirect, Pocket-Lint.com, Rock You and Flixster. He began his career in sales, working at eType Limited (2000-2004) and The Independent, London (1999-2000).
